ACCEPTING LIFE
When I was a young lad, life posed no fear.
I was exceedingly happy, even when danger was
near.
What lay in my future never entered my mind.
Life was a mystery, there was plenty of time.
As I grew older, my life began to change.
I thought it time to limit my range.
I found myself married with a family to love.
At this time, I could appreciate the Gifts from above.
God loaned me some people to cheer up my life.
Three beautiful children, and a loving wife.
Over a period of time, He has taken some away.
Three of these people I miss,-----every day.
I suppose my purpose on earth has yet to be filled.
But my time is more precious, and appreciate it I will.
Three people in my life now live with our Father.
At peace in themselves, with nothing to bother.
We often wonder, why this happens to us,
Why we should suffer, without loosing our trust.
If there was any doubt the load was too great,
The menu would change to, reflect a new fate.

I`ve watched the leaves sway in the breeze.
I`ve climbed mountains, been stung by bees.
I`ve drunk from streams, that were clear and cool.
I`ve eaten berries, smelled wet wool.
I`ve felt the snow, fall from the sky.
I`ve watched smoke, from fires rise.
I`ve tasted fish, that I`ve just caught.
I`ve walked some paths, that others have not.
I`ve heard the birds in a far off tree.
I`ve swum a lake, been alone, the world and me.
I`ve smelled the life in a budding rose.
I`ve run through fields, stubbed my toes.
I`ve watched the rage of the attacking storm.
I was inside, dry, and warm.

I've never made a fortune
And it's probably too late now.
But I don't worry about that much
'cause I'm happy anyhow.
